Ricci was first a hit and received recognition in her early days as a child star for her performances on The Addams Family, Addams Family Values and Casper. Ricci changed roles to be that were more appropriate for adults in The Ice Storm (1997) which was followed by an award-winning performance on The Opposite of Sex 1998, which brought her a Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress. Following Sleepy Hollow in 1999 and Monster 2003, Ricci continued to enjoy the success. Ricci was in the roles of Black Snake Moan, Penelope and Speed Racer.
